Editorial policy

Tapis Vert exists to give Canadian players an honest, tested view of the offshore casinos and poker rooms that legally accept them. This page explains how we work and how we stay independent.

How we test

We open real accounts, deposit our own money, and play before we score anything. We withdraw at three sizes and time every cashout. We confirm each operator's licence at the source and test the responsible-gambling and self-exclusion tools end to end. Nothing is scored from a press release.

Our 40-point scorecard

Every site is rated across four weighted categories — game quality and traffic, deposits and payouts, software and experience, and trust and licensing — for a score out of 40, which we present out of five. Licence quality alone carries 8 of the 40 points, which is why a better-regulated site can outrank one waving a bigger bonus.

Independence and commissions

We are advertiser-supported: when you join a site through our links we may earn a commission, at no cost to you. Commissions never buy, trade, or move a ranking. We rank sites that pay us nothing alongside those that do, and when a site's product declines its position drops regardless of commercial relationship. When a score changes, we say what moved and why.
